食事や会話が楽しくできることは、人が心身共に健康で過ごすために重要なことです。
しかしながら、口腔内にガンができたり唾液が分泌しなくなって口が渇くと会話や食物の飲み込みが困難になります。また、噛み合わせが悪いと堅い食物が咬めないばかりか、時には頭痛や肩こりの原因となります。
本センターでは、このような口腔の機能に関わる疾患の原因を調べるため、また、その対策のために遺伝子工学的処方を用いて、あるいは新しい補綴物の開発、さらに組織再生のための基礎的な研究を行っています。
